Designed by Patricia Urquiola, the Edo series blends cultural references, evoking the essence of cooking: diverse ingredients may create delicious dishes. “Edo,” from the Latin “edere”, meaning “to eat,” is also the ancient name of the city of Tokyo, the birthplace of the simple and harmonious pots that inspired the designer. Urquiola softens the design with details like the shape of the handles reminiscent of ribbons pinned to the pots, becoming the distinctive feature of the collection.

Patricia Urquiola

Patricia Urquiola, born in Spain in 1961, resides and works in Milan, Italy. She studied at Madrid and Milan Polytechnic, graduating in 1989 alongside Achille Castiglioni. Serving as Castiglioni’s assistant lecturer, she collaborated with Vico Magistretti and led Lissoni Associati’s design group. In 2001, she opened her own studio. She has designed products for major Italian and international design companies, with many pieces exhibited in museums worldwide and numerous awards won.
