Does it contain PTFE?

No. Most conventional non-stick cookware is coated with PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), which is a type of PFAS. Our unique Thermolon non-stick coating is completely free of any PFAS chemicals. Instead, it is based on raw materials originally derived from sand.

Using Ceramic Non-Stick Is oil needed with non-stick coatings?

It’s always recommended to use a little oil or butter with any non-stick cookware. It creates a protective barrier between the non-stick coating and the food, improves heat distribution and makes your food taste better.

Important – every type of cooking oil has a different smoke point. Never let your oil burn, as it can damage the non-stick.

Turn down and save energy with ceramic non-stick coatings

Our patented ceramic non-stick coating delivers excellent conductivity and, as a result distributes heat more effectively compared to conventional non-stick coatings. We recommend cooking on a lower heat setting than you would do with a conventional non-stick pan.

E.g. cooking an egg: using a traditional 20cm frying pan on a gas hob the dial is set at number 5, with ceramic non-stick drop it back to number 2/3 for the same results.

What oils should be used with a ceramic coating?

Our ceramic non-stick coating heats up faster than conventional non-stick coatings, so oil will reach its smoking point quicker. Low/medium heat (No. 2/3 on a gas hob) will suffice to achieve perfect results, while avoiding carbonisation.

For high-heat frying, we recommend oils with a high smoke point (e.g. peanut oil, grapeseed oil, etc.). Never use spray oils or extra virgin olive oil as they easily cause a build-up of residue on the cooking surface, creating a sticky layer.

Super easy to clean

Our Thermolon ceramic non-stick coating is super easy to clean. Allow it to naturally cool down before washing to avoid thermal shock and then use a soft sponge with warm soapy water. In case of burnt oil stains, soak your pan first. Avoid abrasive detergents, brushes, steel wool or iron sponges as they will damage the non-stick coating. Hand wash is always recommended to prolong the life of your product, however if required, most* of our ranges are dishwasher safe!

Use silicone or wood utensils

Softer tools (like silicone and wood) are gentler on your pan and will help your coating last longer.
