Wonderful weighted blanket

Wonderful weighted blanket
I’ve been looking for a weighted blanket for my son – he can get quite fidgety and anxious in the evenings and I was hoping a blanket might help. This is a great weight of blanket, enough to make him feel safe and content and comfortable without worrying him over the weight (or me for that matter) The design and colour are great – suitable for any child. The glass beads feel like they are well and evenly distributed across the pockets in the blanket. My son has been using this blanket every other night when he feels like he needs it. I think the quality and finish are second to none – the stitching is fantastic, everything feels like good quality materials have been used. I’m very impressed with how this blanket has helped my son feel a bit calmer, which I think I turn it helps him to have a better sleep. I think that makes it excellent value for money.

    The Calm Blanket!

    My 10 year old relies quite heavily on sensory items day to day. She already has a sensory sock for when she feels overwhelmed or needs to regulate a bit, but I’ve been meaning to get her a weighted blanket for ages and just never got round to it.

    The second I saw this one I knew she’d love it because anything soft, pink and cosy is immediately a winner in this house.

    She took to it really quickly. The weight is comforting without feeling excessive and she’s been using it mostly curled up on the sofa while watching TV or winding down before bed. You can physically see her relax under it which honestly made me wish I’d bought one sooner.

    The star design is lovely too because it feels calming and pretty without looking overly babyish. That was important because at 10 she’s at that awkward age where things are either “too little kid” or suddenly deeply embarrassing.

    Quality-wise I’ve been really happy with it. The stitching looks good, the weight feels evenly spread and it’s soft without feeling sweaty or plasticky. I was worried it might feel stiff or awkward but it drapes nicely once you’re under it.

    I will say weighted blankets definitely are not one-size-fits-all because sensory preferences can vary massively. My daughter loves the feeling of pressure and being cocooned, whereas I tried it myself and lasted about four minutes before deciding I was being slowly buried alive. So I think it really depends on the child and what comforts them.

    It’s become part of her regular routine already though, especially on more overwhelming days, so for us it’s absolutely been worth it.

    For the price I actually think it’s really good value, especially compared to some weighted blankets that cost an absolute fortune. Really pleased with this one overall.
