Outdoor Wall Light L 12 S

Saves energy and costs.

Wasting energy is a thing of the past. The sensor-controlled L 12 S outdoor light, with a detection angle of 180° and a range of up to 10 metres, switches the light on automatically and only when it is really needed. In addition, the twilight threshold can be continuously adjusted between 2 lux (night) and 2000 lux (day) using an adjustment knob. The modern look in combination with the high-quality aluminium cover make the L 12 S a highlight on any house wall.

Convincing technology Infrared pyro sensor The centrepiece of the motion detector

This electronic module reacts when the infrared heat radiation within its detection area changes, i.e. when a person enters the detection area. The resulting voltage jump is converted by the system into an electronic pulse that switches on the light.

Heat radiation The trigger

People emit infrared radiation due to their body heat. This radiation is used by infrared sensor technology to recognise movement and react accordingly.

Reach Tangential and radial

The range of infrared sensors depends on the direction of movement. The L 12 S has a maximum range of 10 m for tangential movement (parallel to the sensor), which is reduced for radial movement (towards the sensor).

In addition, the detection range can be restricted using the cover plates supplied.

Fresnel lenses consist of many individual lenses arranged side by side in a circular segment. The maximum detection angle is 180°.

What is included in the delivery?

In addition to theout wall light, wall plugs, screws and sesnor covers are supplied.

The sensor light switches on for no recognizable reason. What could be the reason for this?

Gusts of wind can cause short-term temperature fluctuations, which can lead to incorrect switching. Other triggers can also be exhaust air openings in the house wall or animals in the detection area.

Why does the motion detector not achieve the specified maximum range?

For technical reasons, PIR sensors react best in a tangential direction of movement (parallel to the sensor). If the direction of movement is radial (towards the sensor), the detection range is reduced.

Is the light suitable for outdoor installation?

This light is splash-proof in accordance with IP44 and can therefore be installed outdoors without any problems.

Which light bulbs can be used?

Light bulbs with an E27 socket and a maximum of 60 W can be used. We recommend retro/filament light bulbs for the most even illumination possible.
